Beaches

The closest beach to the villa is in Platanias, just 800 m away from the villa. Beach of Platanias are with full of beach bars, cafes, touristic shops, hotels and tavernas, it is a destination by itself, busting with life during the entire summer season. The beach is well organized with sun beds, umbrellas, beach bars and clubs.

More beaches near the villa we suggest you to visit are :

- Agia Marina beach (2.7 km): Agia Marina is composed by a number of sandy organized beaches which has easy access. A part of Agia Marina is full of small bays while the east side of the place is a long sandy beach which reaches up to neighbouring Stalos settlement. Agia Marina is also a developed touristic site with shops, bars, tavernas, beach bars and night clubs.

- Kato stalos beach (3.4 km): Kato stalos beach is situated right above Stalos village and it is a long beach with nice soft sand and crystalline waters. Visitors in this beach can enjoy its picturesque scenery and relaxed environment together with participation in activities such as beach volley, beach tennis and water cycling.

- Kiani beach (25 km): Is a very well organized beach with crystal clear waters and not very crowded therefore an ideal choice to spend a whole day. The beach also offers plenty of water sports and efficient services. The beach is also ideal for families as their children can play and swim safely. Moreover there are enough canteens and taverns nearby. Lastly, the exit of the river Kiliaris is located in the middle of the beach bringing water from the top of the Lefka Ori (White mountains). 

- Kalives beach (30 km): Kalives offers two sandy beaches with shallow waters, separated by Xidas river and connected by a small bridge at the exit of the river to the sea. Both beaches of Xidas and Maistrali are well organized and their waters are clean and clear, enriched by sweet water coming from the river. 

In Akrotiri Peninsula, about 30 minutes driving distance from the villa, you will find five beautiful beaches worth visiting.

A fully organized Kalathas beach with clear shallow waters, fine sand and palm trees. Starvos beach with shallow clean waters and a hidden small turquoise lagoon. Organised Loutraki sandy beach with various taverns and famous beach bars. Marathi sandy beach that consists two small beaches with an amazing view to Lefka Ori. And finally Seitan Limania beach, one of the most magical beaches of Crete and a real heaven with pure white pebbles and azure, crystal clear waters.

One of the most unforgettable beaches located on the west of Chania are: Falassarna beach (25 km away). Elafonissi beach with the pink sand which is about 50 km away and Gramvousa-Balos beach where you can visit by ferry from Kissamos town. 

On the South coast of the island you can also discover some of Crete’s most amazing natural beaches around the small town of Palaiochora. The distance to the South coast from the villa is about 1 hour by car and you will be able to discover many isolated beaches.
